Days Of Duran Duran
Wow, on these rainy days it sure is nice to cuddle up with the wife and drink a little wine while listening to the best hits of the 1980s. That, or course, means we are going to put on some Duran Duran.
With them, you got love songs, happy songs and just general good life songs.
My fave is “Ordinary World” and wifey likes “Wild Boys” ROFL!!
I shoulda known back in high school eh?
yeah, for those who don’t know, wife and I were “acquantences in high school.” She was one of the most popular (and hottest) girls in school there in St. Petersburg, FL. I, on the other hand, was a nerdy trumpet player in the marching band. (though I had a hell-ova body from lifting weights all the time LOL)
Anyway, wife would never look at me, though she claims that one day on a senior skip day she noticed me with my shirt off at the beach and commented to a friend that I looked pretty good.
(still look damn thick too at the ripe age of 39)
Anway, if wasn’t until a couple years later that she was home from FSU on spring break and I was jamming with some buds in a jazz club that she realized just how hot old Stratagos was! (yeah, I let her call me “Strat”)
I was on stage with a snifter of fine Irish Whiskey playing some be-bop tunes when wife walked in and redognized me right off. But now, instead of having that band nerd branding on me, it was cool that I was performing in a club. (even if it was just a smokey little bar on 34th st)
yeah, she pretty much fell for me right there and followed me around for like an hour before I acknowledged here and acted like I barely remembered her. But I just couldn’t forget her smile and piercing green eyes.
Long story short, we got married a year later and here we are. The happiest of the Stratagos clan! Those were the days of Duran Duran ya’ll1
